Larkfleet Group won the 2014 Sustainability Award sponsored by Utilitywise

Larkfleet Group is an award-winning house building and development company based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. It comprises a group of businesses with a focus on sustainability that sets it apart from competitors. It is a sustainable house builder, a major developer of sustainable energy projects, an investor in sustainability focused R&D projects and a provider of energy-efficiency improvements for new and existing buildings.

Winning the Award

Karl Hick, CEO at Larkfleet said, ‘We are honoured to have won the Sustainability Award from the British Chambers of Commerce for our commitment to the environment. Larkfleet aims to embrace all aspects of sustainability in our operations so we’re delighted to be recognised for our achievements. The award is a real endorsement of our business philosophy and management approach.’

Entering the Chamber Awards

Group marketing director Helen Jones said, ‘Entering the Chamber Awards helped us as a business to demonstrate our successes and reaffirm our strengths.  This alone was a worthwhile exercise as it is rewarding to remember how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved as a business.

We believe our approach to sustainability is not just ‘the right thing to do’ –it gives us a real competitive edge. We wanted to express that in our entry and I hope we succeeded.’

After the awards

Our future plans are focused on extending our commitment to sustainable development. Since winning the award in November we have launched a new business which will develop solar PV on the roofs of large factories and warehouses across the UK and secured consent for our first solar farm in Scotland.
